Appleworks Converter For Mac

Posted on  by

Welcome to Apple Discussions
Word can open AppleWorks word processing documents only. The Mac version does a pretty good job, the Windows version can open them but they are a mess of 'garbage' characters in addition to the text. I'm guessing that your mailing labels are in an AppleWorks database. The best option would be to save the AppleWorks file as text which will create a tab-delimited file that could be opened by Word or Excel. Make sure you add the .txt extension to the file name or Windows won't know what to do with the file.

AppleWorks 6.2.9 also offers improved printing and resolves issues using web based templates and clip-art on networks using proxy servers. Note: This update replaces any version of AppleWorks for Macintosh 6.0 or later with AppleWorks 6.2.9 for Mac OS X 10.1 or later and AppleWorks 6.2.8 for Mac OS 8.1. I am running OS X 10.11 El Capitan. For a while now I have not been able to open my old ClarisWorks documents. ( I think maybe since Appleworks 6 or so.) I have not thrown them out in case a solution would arise one day and thankfully I have found one. You can open old ClarisWorks document using Libre Office. AppleWorks combines word processing, page layout, image manipulation, spreadsheets, databases and presentations in a single application. To help users easily and effectively express their ideas. In your case, when you Right-click on a word processing file created with AppleWorks (a document that ends with the.cwk extension) you’ll see that Pages is one of the options.

Like Microsoft Office, AppleWorks 6 can be used to createand edit several different kinds of documents. You can save to, andconvert files from, many different file formats. To open a document, from the File menu, choose Open.... To save adocument, from the File menu, choose Save orSave As.... In either case, you will see a dialog boxthat allows you to choose which file formats you wish to use.

Note: The following assumes you have the most recentversion of AppleWorks 6.
